Easter was quite an affair in my household this year. Not only was it a symbolic Christian holiday, but it was my parents' anniversary and my brother's (Cole's) birthday.
(Also, if you would like to add to the mayhem, it is the anniversary of the Columbine shootings and is Hitler's birthday as well. So.)
Easter dinner at my house consisted of a frazzled mother, a salty ham, two sets of grandparents, and mint chocolate chip ice cream.
Every year when asked what they're doing for their anniversary, my parents unfailingly respond that they'll probably eat birthday cake. They very romantically went to a fast-food restaurant last night. My dad bought my mom a milkshake. That's love.
Also, Easter means Cole and I treating our blessedly ignorant grandparents to a rousing rendition of the "Spongebob Squarepants" theme, my mother and I trying to explain the complexities of Harry Potter * to complete Rowling virgins, and Cole teaching my sweet, shy grandma how to play hacky-sack.
Will the wonders never cease.
*note: self is complete geek. is v. okay with this.
